When teams work with high-pressure, volatile fuels, the margin for error is small. At the client facility, daily tasks carry risks of blast injury, penetrating trauma, and severe burns. Generic courses weren’t enough—leadership needed training tailored to their people, space, and real scenarios. KBD designed and delivered an intensive advanced trauma care programme so the research team could recognise life-threatening injuries fast and act with confidence, without disrupting critical operations.
We started with a site visit and hazard assessment to understand processes, equipment, and response constraints. Using that insight, our instructors built a bespoke curriculum and delivered a blended course: focussed classroom sessions plus high-fidelity practicals using specialised training aids that simulate penetrating wounds and realistic burn injuries. Participants practised rapid assessment, triage, bleeding control, airway management, and coordinated response under pressure.
By the end of the programme, participants had enhanced confidence responding to complex trauma, hands-on practice with bleeding control, airway management, and burn treatment, and stronger teamwork and coordination for high-risk scenarios.
This engagement shows how risk-specific design + realistic practice turns standards into capability. A short, concentrated course—built around the client’s hazards and delivered with credible simulation—creates skills that transfer to the real event and a team response that is faster, clearer, and more coordinated.
