For an ultra-high-end tourism island destination, KBD designed and delivered a first-of-its-kind adaptive monitoring and management program that enabled essential marina dredging while safeguarding high-value habitats within a proposed marine reserve.

A traditional wooden fishing boat was uncovered at KAUST’s Thuwal shoreline, threatened by erosion and modern activity. KBD led a rescue archaeology project, creating a high-fidelity digital twin to preserve and share this rare Red Sea maritime heritage.

With limited agricultural resources and heavy reliance on imported fishmeal and soybeans, Saudi Arabia has identified over one million hectares suitable for algae cultivation — a resource with vast untapped potential.

To support Vision 2030’s rapid build-out, KBD provides independent, science-based policy and strategy advice—turning stewardship principles into practical frameworks that protect nature, respect communities, and keep delivery on schedule.

KBD delivered a Critical Habitat Assessment for a 10,000+ km² site in northern Saudi Arabia, covering marine and terrestrial areas. To ensure a transparent, science-led process aligned with IFC PS6, we convened 25+ local and international experts.
